The Madawaska Valley Public Library is asking for you to cast your vote to help rural libraries receive funding on improving the technology infrastructure needed.
Ontario's Budget Talks: Vote for Rural Public Libraries!
As part of the 2017 Ontario budget process, the Federation of Ontario Public Libraries (FOPL) partnered with the Ontario Library Association to submit an idea to the Ontario Ministry of Finance that focuses on improving the technology infrastructure (broadband and bandwidth) of public libraries in rural, northern and Indigenous communities.
We're thrilled to announce that, out of 400 submissions, our idea was selected as one of 17 finalists!
There is a total of $3 million ready to be distributed by the government through this community-sourced initiative.
Visit Ontario.ca/Budgettalks to vote for your three favourite ideas by midnight, February 23, 2017. The eight top-voted ideas will be announced as part of the upcoming 2017 Budget. We also invite you to share this idea with your networks to increase our idea's vote count. Voting is open to the general public; you must register to vote (but it's simple).
Vote now.
